Hypnotic Brass Ensemble are seven brothers from the South Side of Chicago — sons of legendary jazz musician Phil Cohran — who fuse brass, soul, hip-hop, and raw energy into a truly unique sound. With a spiritual connection to music since childhood, they began performing in the Chicago subway before taking to the streets of New York, establishing themselves as one of the most respected brass collectives in the world. They’ve played with icons such as Prince, Gorillaz, Erykah Badu, and Mos Def, and reached global audiences when their track “War” was featured in The Hunger Games. Their shows are pure fire — no gimmicks, just spirit, sound, and soul.
Hypnotic Brass Ensemble has been part of Third Culture since our beginnings in 2015. Together, we’ve built a creative alliance that has taken them on tour across Europe — from underground venues to iconic festivals such as Primavera Sound, Coachella, and Gilles Peterson’s We Out Here Fest.
